Introducing AbilityMatrix: Anna Holpert, Junior Business Development Intern

Although it has been almost five months since I joined Ability Matrix, I still remember how excited and nervous I felt when I got my first task. Looking back I consider myself lucky that I found the advertisement, because I have the opportunity to work with colleagues who are not just helpful and welcoming but professionally inspiring. One of my favourite aspects of working at AbilityMatrix for me is being able to use and advance my research skills in a positively challenging area in a supportive environment.

About Me

I’m 24 years old and I am close to graduating from Eötvös Loránd University’s Sociology Masters programme. I enjoy learning about how societies are built and human social behaviour in general. Getting to understand the construction processes of phenomena and studying them are fascinating for me. My work experience consists mostly of academic research. Working at AbilityMatrix opens up a new perspective, puts my skills into practice – but in a different light.

For most of my life, I have lived in Budapest, but my Erasmus experience opened my eyes towards how great it feels to be in a multicultural community and to explore cultures and countries. But I never would have thought that it is something which I will find in my job.

Remote Working at AbilityMatrix

When I started working at AbilityMatrix last September besides feeling lucky I was a bit worried about the remote work and my ability to pick up the rhythm and settle in a space that only exists virtually.

But these feelings soon vanished, as I had the chance to actually experience the benefit of remote working, the freedom and flexibility offered by not just the concept but the culture and of goals AbilityMatrix. And last but not least the incredible amount of support and help from everyone, which makes me feel valued not just because of my work but as a person as well.

I love how remote working at AM pushes me out of my comfort zone, offers challenges and demands creativity – which is harder to come by in the middle of the pandemic when we see more the walls of our rooms than (in my case) ever before.
